We are now a 501(c)(3)
Roswell Music Jam is now an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This means we can keep doing what we love — bringing musicians together — with more transparency and staying power for the long haul. Thanks for being part of the journey!
What is the Mission of Roswell Music Jam?
Our mission is to create an inclusive and welcoming space where musicians of all backgrounds and abilities can gather, grow, and connect through the shared joy of music. By hosting open jams and community-centered events, we foster player development and education, celebrate diverse genres, and make live music accessible and approachable for everyone. Through outreach and collaboration, we strive to build bridges across communities, nurture creativity, and inspire lasting connections through the universal language of music.
What is Jam and Music Community Organization, Inc. or JAMCO, Inc.?
You know us as Roswell Music Jam — that's the weekly gathering, the community, the music. That doesn't change. Behind the scenes, we're officially organized as Jam and Music Community Organization, Inc. (JAMCO) — our registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit name with the IRS and the State of Georgia. Same people, same mission, same jam. JAMCO is just the legal name you'll see on donation receipts, tax documents, and official paperwork.
How do I support Roswell Music Jam
Other than coming and picking tunes with us, the best way is to become a sustaining member with a monthly donation or a one time donation. All money goes directly to our mission efforts. Like all non-profits, any donation to JAMCO (our legal entity) is Tax Deductible.
Meet your Board of Directors

Cade Thacker
Chairman / Mandolin
Cade "backed" into Bluegrass through the Grateful Dead > Jerry Garcia > David Grisman > Old and in the Way > Bill Monroe. He founded Roswell Music Jam in 2022 when looking for a local jam and coming up empty. He is a long time member of Roswell Presbyterian Church and is proud to invite his music community into his church home. He hopes Roswell Music Jam keeps growing as a place that brings people together in person, one song at a time.
When not picking Bluegrass, he has a 30 year career in Software Engineering and is proud husband and father of two.

Peter Langham
Director / Guitar
Like many folks, Peter retired and picked up his guitar again after 45 years of working. He's been jamming with RMJ, starting in the Beginner's jam, since 2024. Peter is also a member at Roswell Presbyterian Church, RMJ's host church.

Richard Voigt
Secretary / Bass
A musician since childhood, Richard started on piano and cello before picking up guitar and bass as a teenager. His musical path has since spanned a symphony orchestra, a rock band, a college jazz band, a theatrical ensemble, and an acoustic guitar duo. Richard has been a regular at the Roswell Music Jam since 2022, and today he plays bass guitar for Uncle Barry, a band born out of the Jam in 2025.
When not playing his Roots and 5ths, Richard serves as Vice President & Senior Counsel at Waffle House, Inc., where he specializes in corporate real estate and environmental law. Over his career, he has held senior legal roles at several national-brand companies, advising on real estate transactions, leasing, and property management.

Rose Walker
Director / Voice
Rose Walker is a Michigan native who grew up in the incredible Midwest tri-state Bluegrass community. She comes from a family of Bluegrass and folk musicians, earned her first quarter singing Hot Corn, Cold Corn at a local restaurant when she was only two years old and has been emceeing Bluegrass festivals for years. Rose and her now-fiancé Joseph initially bonded over Bluegrass; she joined RMJ when he brought her to a Tuesday jam back in early 2024 and has been involved since. Rose has served on several nonprofit boards, including Special Olympics Michigan and Ser Familia, Inc. She studied music, music education and literature during her undergraduate program, holds graduate certificates in translation and interpretation, and a Masters in Global Business Administration. Rose is passionate about building a world where everyone has the resources and opportunity to thrive, and she’s seen firsthand how RMJ has helped create community and opportunity through music, so it’s an honor to serve on the inaugural board.
